NDDC Now Accepting Applications
Overview
To further boost Human Resource Development in the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is once again offering its Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship Programme.
The programme aims to equip young people with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Federal Government’s local content programme, enabling them to specialize in their fields and compete globally.
The scheme is open to suitably qualified applicants with Bachelor’s Degrees from recognized universities in the following disciplines:
Eligible Fields of Study
Agricultural Sciences / Biotechnology
Engineering
Environmental Sciences
Geosciences
Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence
Medical Sciences
Architecture / Building Technology
Law
NDDC Application Deadline
Application opens: March 23, 2026
Deadline: April 19, 2026
Mode of Application
Applicants must apply online via the official website:
www.nddc.gov.ng
Required Documents
Recent passport photograph
Local Government Identification Letter
Postgraduate admission letter from a recognized overseas university
Relevant degree certificates from recognized universities
NYSC Discharge / Exemption Certificate
After successful application, a registration number will be automatically assigned.
Applicants should print a hard copy of the acknowledgement for reference.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
Be from the Niger Delta Region
Possess a First Class or Second Class Upper Division
Be under 40 years old
Selection Process
Initial Application: Submit online application
Preliminary Shortlisting based on:
WAEC/NECO results
Undergraduate degree classification
Local Government identification
Computer-Based Test (CBT) (conducted in Rivers State)
Minimum Score Requirement: At least 70%
Further Shortlisting: Based on CBT performance
Final Verification: Conducted through LGA and Community Development Committee (CDC)
Scholarship Details
The scholarship value will be based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira.
Important Notes
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
Shortlisted applicants must participate in a CBT
NDDC will not communicate with:
Unsuccessful applicants
Candidates not invited for interviews
Preference will be given to candidates from oil-producing communities
The Commission ensures fair distribution across states
No deferment or change of course/institution allowed
Final decisions by NDDC are binding
