The NDDC Post-Graduate Scholarship is a program aimed at boosting human resource development in the Niger Delta region by providing financial support for students pursuing postgraduate (Master’s) degrees in various fields, including agriculture, engineering, medical sciences, law, and more.

2. Who is eligible to apply for the NDDC Post-Graduate Scholarship?

To be eligible:

  • Applicants must be from the Niger Delta region.
  • They must have a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Applicants must not be older than 40 years of age.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 20, 2025, which is 4 weeks from the first publication date of March 23, 2025.

6. What is the selection process for the scholarship?

  1. Preliminary Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their WASSCE/NECO results, undergraduate degree classification, and local government identification.
  2. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Shortlisted candidates will take a CBT in Rivers State.
  3. Minimum Test Score: Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% in the CBT to proceed to the next stage.
  4. Further Shortlisting: Candidates who pass the CBT will be further shortlisted.
  5. Final Verification: The final verification of candidates will be conducted by the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC).

7. What documents are required to apply for the scholarship?

8. How will shortlisted candidates be notified?

9. Is there a preference for certain applicants?

Preference will be given to candidates from oil-producing host communities and local government areas, as long as they meet the approved cut-off mark. The Commission will also ensure a fair spread of courses across each state.

10. Can I defer or change my institution or course after being awarded the scholarship?

No, deferment, change of institution, or change of course are not permitted once you are selected.

11. Can I apply if I have not yet completed my NYSC service?

Yes, but you must provide your NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate as part of the application process

12. What is the scholarship amount based on?

The scholarship amount for overseas studies will be based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira.

The 2025 NDDC Aptitude Test is likely to take place in May 2025, according to insider sources.

14. Where will the test be conducted

The test will be conducted in portharcourt. If you are not based in P/H, you may consider pairing up for a shortlet or hotel stay.

15. Who will conduct the NDDC Aptitude Test for 2025?

The NDDC itself will conduct the test, often through consultants such as MARG EDUCATION INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, as in recent years. Prior to 2017, the test was conducted by CINFORES.

If you are successful at the test, Congratulations!  You will now be invited to documentation and oral interviews.
This is also a very crucial selection exercise as some candidates will be dropped at this stage. You need to be well prepared to pass this stage. 

You will be expected to face a panel of interviewers, usually one interview or two. Questions can come from you undergraduate course of study, or the course you applied to, or even general knowledge. For example, current affairs. Who is the governor of Rivers state, etc. It can sometimes also be something very random. Composure and self confidence is very important at this stage.

    1. Hi Esther, have you tried schools in Scotland or North London.
      Robert Gordon university, Coventry etc

      You can also work with a “travel abroad” consultant/agency to speed things up.
