Bilateral Education AGREEMENT (BEA) Scholarship Test Preparation Tips and Past Questions Guide

The FSB It is a Grant System pioneered by the Federal Government of Nigeria to support students across the country. The Federal Government Scholarship Scheme was implemented and monitored by the Federal Scholarship Board FSB, headed by the Federal Ministry of Education.

BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT (BEA)

  1. i) Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Hungary, Egypt, Tunisia, Romania;
  2. ii) Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Mexico.

2.0 All qualified candidates are advised to:

3.0 FIELDS OF STUDY

  1. Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurologis and b. Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD) in all fields.

4.0 CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2019 & 2020) for Non-African Countries and for African countries the age of certificate is one year (2020) only.
  • Age limit is from 17 to 20 years.
  1. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS:
  • All applicants for Postgraduate degree courses must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division.
  • The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have acquired at least two (2) years post qualification experience or employment practice in Nigeria.
  • All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Programme
  • The age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.
  1. i) N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are accepted; and
  2. ii) Evidence of readiness to be released by an employer.

GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL APPLICANTS:

  1. i) Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign Language course of the Country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction;
  2. ii) The required certificate for candidates applying for Bachelor in Imamat, Quran Teaching Professor and Imam Preacher Training for Islamic Religious studies in Algeria is WASSCE/WAEC, and no other certificate is accepted;

iii) All applicants for Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference, and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu which will hopefully be opened on the directive of the board

  • Complete the application form online,
  1. vi) All applicants for Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia;
  2. v) All Applicants to upload the following certificates online;
  3. UNDERGRADUATE (UG):
  • WAEC/WASSCE.
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Indigene letter.
  1. POSTGRADUATE (PG):
  • 1st Degree Certificate,
  • Birth Certificate,
  • WAEC/WASSCE,
  • Indigine letter
  • NYSC discharge Certificate.

NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following:

  1. i) Authenticated copies of academic certificates;
  2. ii) Data page of the current International passport;

iii) Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals;

  1. iv) National Identification Number (NIN)
  2. v) Police Clearance Certificate where necessary.

Mode of Application for the Federal Government Scholarship Award

Follow the steps below to be able to apply for the Federal Government Scholarship Award.

  1. Go to the Federal Government Scholarship Award portal by clicking HERE www.education.gov.ng.
  2. Obtain the application form through the Federal Government Scholarship Portal.
  3. Access the Scholarship form publication on the portal.
  4. Carefully follow the instructions provided for registration and apply for the Scholarship exercise.
  5. Upon completing your application, print your Scholarship Registration slip.
  6. Wait for feedback from the relevant authorities.

 

Applicants Should Note the Following

All eligible candidates are advised to take the following steps:

  1. Go to the Federal Ministry of Education’s website at education.gov.ng
  2. Select the Federal Scholarship Board ICON located on the homepage.
  3. Carefully review the guidelines/instructions and complete the online application form.
  4. Print a copy of the completed form.
  5. Attach the necessary documents, including a Letter of Admission to the Institution and CGPA results.
  6. Note that any candidate with double entries will be disqualified.

How to Create an Account on the FSB Portal

  1. Enter in a valid email address.
  2. Create a strong and unique password.
  3. Enter in your strong password to confirm.
  4. Provide your surname.
  5. Provide your First Name and any other name.
  6. Place in your Mobile Number.
  7. Select the “Scholarship Type” you are applying for.
  8. Read through the details you entered and check for errors.
  9. Once you are satisfied that there is no error, click on “Register”.

 

How to Check For FSB Exam Details

Below are the steps to follow to check for your exam details for the Federal Government Scholarship (FSBN);

  1. Visit the Federal Government Scholarship portal
  2. Enter your phone number or the last 6 digits of your applicant number e.g FSB/NA/2023/ 000000
  3. Click on Check
  4. Print your CBT examination slip

 

CBT Exam Instructions

All Applicants are advised come to the CBT Venue with the following;

  1. A Print Out of your School or Jamb admission letter
  2. A Printout or this CBT Slip showing venue and time of the Exam.
