About BBC

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has a rich history that began in the early 20th century. The first live public broadcast in Britain was made from the factory of Marconi’s Wireless Telegraph Company in Chelmsford in June 1920, featuring the Australian soprano Dame Nellie Melba.
